Marketing Internship Experience
This was my second semester working with the Strategic Marketing and Communication office on the campus of Muskingum University. This time around, we looked to change things up and have me work on some projects that differed from the last semester where I mainly focused on photography projects. Those didn’t go away, but my time was more-so spent working on interviews and video editing in Adobe Premiere. I was also able to really start making the Muskie Happenings that I created before and expand on them for the official Muskingum social pages. Shown below are some of the projects I worked on over the course of the spring semester.
Muskie Happenings
This semester I was really able to dive in with the Muskie Happenings social posts that I had created towards the end of my last tenure with the marketing office. Every week this semester I produced a new Muskie Happenings that went over the weekly events happening on-campus and sometimes events over the weekend as well. This occurred with bigger events such as Muskiepalooza and the week of Easter break. These were created using Canva and they allowed me to get better at digital media design as well as help me and other students stay in tune with what was happening during this crazy spring semester. Below are some examples of what I was able to create.
“I Am A Muskie Student Leader” Project
This project was one that had already been started the semester before with different interns, but was given to me to continue as this semester progressed. The goal behind this project was to get footage of muskie student leaders talking about their experiences so far and what their club brought to the university, community, and the students around campus. I was responsible for contacting student leaders, conducting the interviews, and then editing the footage so that Mr. Rzodkiewicz(my supervisor) could add official Muskingum graphics to the video afterwards. Here are some of the interviews that I conducted and edited.
Technology Showcase
This was one of the shoots that I accompanied Oscar with where I was used as an actor to show off some of the VR technology that Muskingum has at its disposal. Going on various shoots was something I would do often and this was one of my favorite ones over the course of the semester as I wasn’t just taking pictures or helping set up camera equipment, but I was able to actively participate in the shoot. I’ve timestamped where I show up in the video and I’m there for around 30 seconds.
